Since Parvez joined the charity in 2017, he has helped transform it into a forward-looking organisation with a bright future. He has recently been driving improvements to staffing, documentation and working practices, and has created a Vision 2023 report to be completed in time for the charity’s 125th anniversary.
Parvez has a background in business and commerce and has a keen interest in start-up businesses, advising young chief executive officers and supporting them on strategies for success.
He was a director of technology specialising in investment banking for many years and uses the skills learned in business to inspire his colleagues and continue to build trust with corporate partners, volunteers and people who donate. The use of contactless card payments and the charity’s move to Highcross were just two of his initiatives.
Parvez was just six when he moved with his family to ‘Les-Tah’ from Uganda and is proud of the multi-cultural city where he was brought up. He sees it as a privilege to be involved with such a long-standing and established charity in his home city.
When he is not working out his strategies, Parvez is a member of a Rotary Club and enjoys Tai Chi, yoga and being mindful.
