Leicester City legend and club ambassador Alan Birchenall M.B.E (Birch) is an English footballer who played during the 1960′ and 1970’s. Born in East Ham, he had a distinguished football career and played for clubs such as Sheffield United, Chelsea and Leicester City.
After hanging up his boots, Alan has supported local charities for the last 40 years and raised over 2 million pounds. In 2018, ‘Birch’ and his army of fund-raisers endured a gruelling 90 minute run around the king power stadium and was roared over the finish line by 32,000 Leicester City fans. Together they raised a massive £40,000 for Leicester Children’s Holidays and meant more children within Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland could take a much needed holiday.
