Fab for Christmas

Our annual Fab 4 Xmas event saw 64 people attend and enjoy a 3 course meal provided by the young aspiring chefs at Leicester College, Taste restaurant. We were able to get into the Christmas spirit with bell ringing and the browsing of craft stalls.

School Partnerships

We are excited to say we are now up to 56 school partnerships. These partnerships help us to reach the children who need our help the most across the whole of the city and county. With over 12,000 children planning to take part in our sparkle and shine colour dash, we really are working together to make a difference.

Christmas Wrapping

We are in the middle of our gift wrapping service in the Highcross Shopping Centre, where customers come along and have their Christmas presents wrapped by our lovely team and volunteers. All profits made from this are going to our cause. Pop along to see us.

Santa's Canal Boat Trip

In partnership with The Peter Le Marchant Trust we had the joy of taking 36 children on a Christmas canal boat trip, where they got to meet Santa, play games, and make new friends, overall enjoying a fantastic day out which they would otherwise never get to experience. Many of these children had never seen Santa before. We would love to do this all over again next year with your support.

CEO Message

I don’t know where the last 12 months have gone, here we are at the Christmas Holidays once again! It has been a joyful December for us where we held our Fab 4 Xmas event. We also took 36 children away for the day to see Santa on a canal boat – an amazing experience. We are currently in the middle of our wrapping service – not to mention all the planning going on behind the scenes for the next 12 months and beyond of LCH – A huge thank you to my team for always delivering and going above and beyond. I would like to personally welcome our new Chair - Bryon Brotherton MBE and Vice Chair - June Bhatty, I am looking forward to working with them both more closely over the next 12 months. 2024 is going to be an important year for us, with more trips and holidays planned, a colour dash event that brings joy to upwards of 12,000 children, all fundraising to help others in their community and our 125th anniversary finale celebratory Gala Dinner. I wish you all a lovely Christmas holiday. Let us spend a little bit of time remembering the children in our community who perhaps won’t be enjoying their Christmas as much as they should for many many reasons, and that 2024 brings more hope and joy to them.

What We Do And Why

Here are some stories of our recently nominated children: Tom aged 9 is a young carer, he helps look after his 3 younger sisters, his mum has disabilities and he supports her greatly. He came on the trip with his younger sister, (he didn’t leave her side). It was great to see him forget his worries and have fun. Kiana’s mum has recently fled domestic violence, she is struggling to settle at school due to the recent changes in her life. She joined us along with 2 girls from her class, it was fantastic to see them sharing an experience and they were quite the trio by the end of the day.

Gala Dinner

We are thrilled to announce that tickets are now on sale for our 125th anniversary celebration - The Great Gatsby Gala Dinner!!
